On the occasion of World Standards Day, Agoria and the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) are organising a morning workshop focusing on “New digital regulations & standards : challenge and opportunities”.
The workshop will first look at the role of standards in strengthening European competitiveness and supporting the implementation of digital regulation. It will introduce the European standardisation system and explain how standards can help organisations demonstrate compliance with regulatory obligations.
The programme will then focus on the EU AI Act and the EU Data Act. The sessions will examine the development of harmonised standards for AI governance and high-risk AI systems, as well as standards related to data sharing, data spaces, cloud switching, interoperability and open application programming interfaces.
Finally, the workshop will look ahead to upcoming digital regulatory and standardisation developments, including the Cyber Resilience Act and the Digital Product Passport. The closing discussion will consider how Belgium can improve coordination and dialogue so that users, the electronic communications industry and the wider digital sector can participate effectively in standardisation work.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join us in Brussels and be part of this exchange of ideas, best practice and challenges.
