This report assesses the functioning of the Royal Decree of 6 September 2016 regarding the migration of fixed line services and bundles of services in the electronic communications sector (also called “the Easy Switch RD”) and presents to the Minister for Telecommunications the strategic orientations and options which arise according to the BIPT, also for the transposition of the new European Electronic Communications Code at the level of the change of provider.
The BIPT recommends among other things that operators should further promote Easy Switch as the standard procedure to change fixed operators and bundles and asks operators to take additional measures to avoid errors.
The BIPT also asks that the data customers have to provide to their new operators in case of switch be easier to find with all operators.
Finally, the BIPT also submits a number of propositions regarding the intervention of the technician for consideration by the Minister.
