To help consumers gain a better understanding in a dynamic market where offers change rapidly, the BIPT carries out a national price comparison every year.
This study takes demand as its starting point, i.e. the needs that different types of telecoms service users have to satisfy.
For this eleventh edition, five household profiles relating to standalone mobile services have been reviewed to take better account of the reality of the Belgian mobile market.
These profiles take account of a wide variety of uses (from 5 GB to 100 GB), whether they concern people for whom minimising expenditure is essential or consumers with a larger budget.
Furthermore, the rankings show different offer and brand categories (primary, secondary, alternatives), from starter price offers to premium offers.
Finally, a comparison with the results obtained in the previous edition shows how dynamic the market has been since the arrival of the 4th mobile operator in Q4 2024, and how the various brands have adapted and reacted to this.
The study also provides consumers with a number of tips to help them get the most out of the situation by adopting a proactive rather than passive approach.
Given their temporary nature, promotions have not been taken into account in this study.
