A new tsunami of smishing messages about to hit. The Centre for Cyber Security Belgium and the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (BIPT) fear that mobile telephone users will be flooded by dangerous text messages in the days to come. It all started last weekend with a suspicious text message that looked as if it was sent by bpost.  As many as 9,000 users have already opened the link with their mobile phones and have accepted the request to download an application. Their mobile phones are infected with a dangerous virus that causes a lot of damage and, what’s more, that spreads quickly to the victim’s telephone contacts.
