1 In order to provide its fixed offer BASE makes use of two separate networks depending on the customer’s geographical location. In Flanders, in 2/3 of the Brussels municipalities and in la Botte du Hainaut in Wallonia this is the cable network resulting from the joint venture between Telenet and Fluvius. In Wallonia and in the rest of Brussels (6 municipalities) BASE uses the VOO/Orange Belgium cable network thanks to the wholesale agreement concluded in 2023 allowing access to that network for 15 years. Both networks offer great stability and a high Internet connection speed throughout the country.
2, 3 Following that wholesale agreement concluded in 2023 between VOO/Orange Belgium and the Telenet Group the same goes for the Orange and hey! offers.
You are an operator active in the residential market and you are not in the lists above? Please contact simultar@bipt.be.
Are you dissatisfied with the quality of the mobile network provided by your current operator?
This list also indicates the mobile network used by each operator. This saves you from experiencing again a possible coverage problem if the new operator you are thinking of choosing uses the same network as the operator you want to leave.
With the mobile coverage map published by the BIPT, you will be able to assess the coverage quality at your preferred connection location (your home, workplace, or daily railway line, for example).
Quality matters too!
Do you want to check which fixed access network is best for your connection address?
With the fixed coverage map, find out which operator with its own access network is best for your connection address. And find out which secondary and/or alternative operators are also using it.
Do you want to know the progress of fibre deployment?
With the fibre deployment map, you can check at any given time if your connection address will soon be covered.
Not satisfied with your current operator's quality of service?
The BIPT quality barometer contains several indicators enabling you to better understand the quality of the operators’ operational service. You can compare operators’ performance in terms of respecting the announced installation date, percentage of complaints regarding initial functioning and invoices, defects and malfunctions, repair time, customer service response time and percentage of problems solved on first contact.
But then… how to compare their rates?
By using the free simulator besttariff.be! This regularly updated tool presents the different tariff plans in a neutral, transparent and comprehensive manner. It is easy to use: your consumption data can be entered automatically or manually.
