The BIPT has examined the price level of telecom products in a group of six countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom).

The purpose of this study is to verify how the price level of telecom products for residential users on the Belgian market compares to the price level of similar products in the countries that surround us. The analysis is carried out based on the tariff plan data gathered by the BIPT in October 2023.

The study shows that our country is generally expensive for mobile services as well as for fixed Internet and telecom bundles. That is especially the case for large bundles and mobile subscriptions with either a little or a lot of data. For those, Belgian telecom prices surpass those in neighbouring countries by far.
