The arrival of the fourth operator on the Belgian telecom market causes a remarkable shift in the international price comparison, as is shown by a simulation based on the BIPT’s most recent international price study.
For mobile data needs up to 10 GB a month Belgium is no longer one of the most expensive countries thanks to the launch of DIGI and hey!’s reaction.
Our country is now situated close to the cheapest country, which is France. For fixed services DIGI offers the lowest prices, compared to the neighbouring countries, for both stand-alone Internet and 2P combinations that include mobile.
However, that very competitive offer is not available at the national level, as it is only open to inhabitants of Anderlecht and Sint-Jans-Molenbeek.
Other operators mainly react on the mobile market, while there is no response yet on the fixed market.
