In the context of the Decision of the CRC of 29 June 2018 on the analysis of broadband and television broadcasting, the CRC has imposed access obligations on Proximus for its FTTH network. These access obligations are accompanied by tariff obligations. They are also imposed on the two joint ventures Fiberklaar and Unifiber as affiliated companies that Proximus controls jointly with EQT Infrastructure and Eurofiber respectively.
In that context, the BIPT checks if Fiberklaar and Unifiber apply fair tariffs. This check is carried out with a cost model reflecting the costs of an efficient operator.
The BIPT also checks if Proximus’ wholesale tariffs, approved for the first time in 2021, still reflect the costs of an efficient operator.
