29/11/2019
The indicators present in this observatory aim at providing a representation of the market structure intended for all the stakeholders of the postal sector (senders, addressees, operators, various intermediate players, etc.). These indicators allow approaching the market on supply side, the evolution of the universal service provider activity and its competitors, as well as the results of the postal activity in Belgium in terms of quality of service and innovation for the users of these services. The observatory reveals that the postal market grew by 5% in 2018.The parcel and express segment even grew by 12.3%. This results in the need for all postal operators to have a wide postal points network.

Publications › Consultation -
05/11/2019
Citymesh asked BIPT to add the municipalities of Zaventem to the current licence. The addition of Zaventem to the list of municipalities falling under the existing user rights limits the possibilities for another potential candidate and can therefore not be accepted without a new allocation procedure.
BIPT Council Decision of 29 October 2019 regarding the listing and classification of products and services provided by the universal service provider for the year 2017
Publications › Decision -
05/11/2019
This decision aims at the implementation of Article 13 of the Royal Decree regarding the analytic accounting of the universal postal service provider of 25 April 2014. In this context, each year, the universal service provider has to provide BIPT with a list of his products and services as well as the classification according to their nature, into universal, public or commercial products or services. This classification is submitted to BIPT's approval. BIPT then communicates this approval to the audit commissioner (in this case, the Supervisory Board).
