BIPT publishes for the third time a benchmark study of the prices for telecom products in Belgium and our neighbouring countries (the Netherlands, France, Germany and the United Kingdom). That study shows average results for Belgium. Below you will find a survey of the main results from the study.

Benchmark study of the prices for telecom products in Belgium and our neighbouring countries

Bpost is charged with the universal postal service until 31 December 2018, in accordance with the Act of 21 March 1991 on the reform of certain economic public companies (Art. 144octies, § 1). The Act provides for an open procedure for the designation of the universal postal service provider as from 1 January 2019. BIPT organises a public consultation, in the form of a questionnaire, aimed at collecting the opinions of all stakeholders on the universal postal service as a whole. Besides, it also aims at collecting any useful information for the realisation of the designation procedure and the achievement of universal service objectives. The main topics covered by the consultation are the following: - societal interest and content of the US; - users' behaviour (in particular in terms of traffic volumes); - conditions (including, but not only, tariff conditions) in which an operator could show his interest to provide the US, etc.

Decision of 16 January 2015 on granting exclusive frequency bands for the use of radio relay links

This decision determines the tariffs of the different elements necessary to provide a multicast service: the access to Belgacom's IPTV platform, the one-time fees regarding the IPTV offer and the Ethernet transport in Belgacom’s network.

In this Decision, BIPT determines the cost-oriented access tariffs of the "Wholesale Multicast" offer and the Ethernet transport for the "BROBA" and "WBA VDSL2" offers. The Decision shall take effect and enter into force two months after its publication.
