In the annual report on electronic communications and TV market figures the BIPT again registers a strong growth in mobile data traffic. In three years’ time mobile data traffic has gone up by almost 130%.
This clearly shows the need for high-capacity mobile telecommunications networks to counter the growing need for data.
In that context we see that following a slow start the roll-out of 5G networks is picking up speed in our country. In January 2024, 65% of the Belgian territory already had good 5G indoor coverage.
