Inquiry about the users’ perception of the Belgian electronic communications market (2017)
Publications › Survey -
31/08/2017
Based on the results of the annual consumer survey conducted by BIPT, users were rather satisfied with the services and prices offered. Users found it was sometimes difficult to compare prices and services and often knew nothing of the basic rights regarding telecommunications. The evolution in the use of telecommunications services is worth noting. For example, the use of mobile Internet and some applications thanks to which it is possible to use message and telephony services over the Internet strongly increased.BIPT's tariff simulator has been well received as well as the SMS notification sent once the price cap is reached for mobile telephony.

BIPT publishes a benchmark price study of telecom products for small companies
Publications › Press release -
02/08/2017
For the fourth time since 2014 BIPT publishes a study comparing the prices of telecom products for small companies in Belgium with the prices in the neighbouring countries. Companies with a relatively modest consumption of telecommunications services face relatively high costs in our country. Professionals making intensive use of mobile services are more mid-range in terms of cost. As the use of fixed telephony increases, so does the competitive position of Belgium. Belgium’s position in the country ranking has improved compared to 2016 for most of the business types examined. The total communication costs for the Local-based Individual Business (e.g. a bakery, a butcher’s) and the Retail Outlet did however increase.
