• Draft decision on the monthly tariffs for wholesale access to the cable operators’ networks

    This BIPT draft decision submits the new monthly wholesale tariffs regarding access to the cable networks for public consultation. The draft decision constitutes an implementing measure accompanying the CRC Decision of 29 June 2018 (with a corrigendum on 11 July 2019), imposed by the CRC and existing in monitoring the prices for the wholesale services that the cable network operators have to provide.   • Consultation of 25 May 2019 on the areas where the reduction in the fee related to user rights for radio-relay links applies

    The Royal Decree of 2 June 2019 amends the Royal Decree of 18 December 2009 on private radio communications and user rights for fixed networks and trunked networks. The amendments introduced by that Royal Decree aim to lower by 80% and for a 10-year period the amount of the annual fees relating to the user rights for radio-relay links in those areas of the country where an extra incentive is needed to provide households and companies with a large-band connection. The Royal Decree lays down that BIPT has to determine and publish at least every two years the exact extent of those areas.

    Citymesh asked BIPT to add the municipalities of Kortrijk to the current licence. The addition of Kortrijk to the list of municipalities falling under the existing user rights limits the possibilities for another potential candidate and can therefore not be accepted without a new allocation procedure.
