This market concerns the retailing of national fixed telephony services for residential and non-residential customers.
Applicable regulatory framework
The decision of 24 September 2014 waived the measures imposed on Belgacom (now named Proximus) within the framework of previous decisions regarding that market. It is thus deregulated.
Previous decisions
The first market analysis decision on national telephony services was adopted on 11 August 2006. A second one was adopted on 6 November 2008.
In both cases, Belgacom (now named Proximus) was designated as having significant market power and was imposed a series of obligations to fulfil, amended as appropriate from one market analysis to the other.
