Brussel, 25 mei 2016 – Het BIPT publiceert een overzicht van consumentenrechten inzake elektronische communicatiediensten. Daarbij gaat de aandacht ook naar de leesbaarheid en de begrijpelijkheid voor het grote publiek, met inbegrip van personen met een beperking. Behalve online is dit overzicht ook verkrijgbaar op CD, in braille en in groteletterdruk. Weldra is ook een versie in gebarentaal beschikbaar. Het BIPT neemt hiermee een uniek initiatief om voor het grote publiek de vrije keuze uit elektronische communicatiediensten te bevorderen.

For the fourth consecutive year, BIPT publishes a national price comparison. In total, no less than 218 tariff plans of the Belgian residential market have been analysed in order to enable consumers to compare telecommunications products available on the Belgian residential market in full transparency through 20 pre-established consumer profiles. The study makes it possible to consider the results with and without the effect of promotions. The services analysed are fixed telephony, (prepaid and postpaid) mobile telephony, fixed Internet and fixed triple play.

This communication regards the declaration of conformity of bpost's cost accounting system for the year 2014 drawn up by the Supervisory Board as commissioned by BIPT. This declaration was drawn up in conformity with the Royal Decree of 25 April 2014 implementing title IV of the Act of 21 March 1991 on the reform of certain economic public companies.

In this report BIPT gives a summary of the verification it carried out in 2015 regarding the transparency to be given on the operator websites about the consequences traffic management measures may have on the quality of service offered to end-users. The report also gives attention to the relation between the Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications and Regulation (EU) 2015/2120, which enters into force on 30 April 2016, in order to ensure open internet access and to the actions in this field expected and planned by BIPT.
