Given the BIPT’s concerns regarding the available supply of 0800 numbers, it has taken the initiative as the administrator of the numbering plan to organise a public consultation, which took place from 26 March to 8 May 2019, on the extension of the supply of 0800 numbers.
The consultation document described eight possible options to solve the shortage problem. Owing to the reactions to this consultation, BIPT received feedback from all the stakeholders concerning the various options as well as numerous useful comments to present the most optimum solution to the market.
This was concretised in the draft decision of 9 August 2019, on which the stakeholders were again consulted (deadline 11 October 2019).
Finally, based on the various contributions the Decision of 13 November 2019 was adopted.
