The BIPT has examined the price level of telecom products in a group of five countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Luxembourg).

The purpose of this study is to verify how the price level of telecom products for residential users on the Belgian market compares to the prices of similar products in the countries that surround us.

The analysis is carried out based on the tariff plan data gathered by the BIPT in October 2024, just before the launch of the fourth operator.

This study shows that Belgium is expensive for small mobile subscriptions, fixed Internet and the heaviest bundles.

By contrast, competition in Belgium has increased for mobile subscriptions with medium and big data needs.

Although the mobile market is developing strongly, the fixed market lags behind.
